Enjoy the Process

In a world teeming with AI slop one could ask, why create anything? In order to cut through the noise you’d have to do something beyond phenomenal or just make something at least amazing that appeals to the most broad audience possible. Either way the chances of breaking through to anyone as a hobby especially outside the hugbox of social media, seems like an impossible task.

What if you were guaranteed that no one would see you work? What if you were guaranteed no one would like your work? What if more than not liking it, what if they were totally apathetic? Could you still make something? Is the process and the releasing of some creative spark into the void, reward enough? When anyone with more free time, more money or a big enough LLM model can generate 10x the stuff you can. And more than that, just maybe all of it, in every form: is better, more polished, more refined and more captivating than anything you can create.

Is it still worth it to try? To create?

I hope so…
